Synopsis: A woman has decided to get an IUD inserted after many years of pain related to her reproductive system. It does not go as expected and sends her into a hell of pain and mental imbalance that ties her to the bed. She decides to have it removed again. The woman is now very vulnerable and everything crashes for her, as her mother figure and the love of her life, Céline Dion, has become seriously ill and therefore cannot sing for the next long while. Her shattered nerves and Céline's illness send the woman into a psychosis, where she believes something incredible is happening to her body.
Psykisk Syge Æg / Mental Eggs is an interdisciplinary film project that straddles maternal complexes, sexuality and mental health. The basic research tool is intuitive performance and atmospheric analysis. These above elements are explored through the artists own body and experience. Mental Eggs takes its form in a short film format which is produced intuitively, sporadically through performance with pillars of symbolic and descriptive elements, which were agreed in advance, so that the development of the project had something to relate to intuitively. The project is supported by a close and safe collaboration between performer and photographer.
